The Cut and Fold Challenge

For our zoom class today we were finding ways to cut shapes out with just one cut. This is the star  I made with just one cut.  I also made the letters V and K. The K was 3 cuts and the V was four.

Snowflake Symmetry

Today at our Zoom class we made symmetry art. We folded a piece of paper into a triangle and made some shapes. We unfolded it looked really cool. It had four reflection, four rotation symmetry and eight symmetry in total.

Tetrahedron

This is the Tetrahedron that I made in my zoom class. It was a mix of R.E and Maths. The things we used were a ruler, pencil, paper, and glue stick. We had to use the ruler to measure out the Tetrahedron. Then we had to cut it out and write Love, Hope, and Faith on each side. It was really fun to make and also a little hard.

Tapa Cloth

This is my tapa cloth. I used brown paper to make it, I also had to make a pattern that showed reflection, rotation, translation and symmetry. It took me about a week to make.

Super Hero Reflection

Enlargement SuperHero Art

What did you accomplish?
Trying to draw Wonder Woman by following the grid lines and by making accurate measurements.

Are you satisfied with your Super Hero enlargement? Why / Why not?
I’m pleased with my work because I tried hard to follow the grid lines to draw the body of Wonder Woman

What did you find easy when you created your SuperHero enlargement?
I found drawing the legs the easiest because they were faded in

What did you find challenging when you were creating your SuperHero enlargement?
I found drawing the hair and face challenging because I had to follow the grid lines for the hair which was really difficult.

What do you need to work on?
The face and hands because they were really hard to follow on the grid

What would you change with your Super Hero enlargement?
The face because she looks like she’s evil.

What would you do next time to improve Super Hero Enlarged picture?
I would want to improve on the face of my Wonder Woman because she looks really angry.

Symmetry Art

This is my symmetry art. I found it easy to colour in the segments. I found tracing the pattern on the paper challenging because the cardboard paper kept moving a lot. Next time I will change the colours  so that they contrast and stand out more. I'm most proud my pattern that I created.

Favorite Big Cats

In room one panthers were liked by seven people which made them the most popular big cat. Panthers were closed followed by cheetahs. Five students liked cheetahs and the four people liked lions as their favourite big cat. Tigers were the least liked because they always sleep and they’re not very interesting when they sleep.

The Mintie Challenge

           The Mintie Challenge

Sayonara’s Mintie wrapper was longest because
she took her time and she did not rush. Her Mintie wrapper was 102cm.

Nigel’s Mintie wrapper was the shortest because he didn’t take his time.
His was 36.3 cm long.

The difference between the longest wrapper and the
shortest wrapper was 65.7 cm long.

There were no two wrappers that had the same measurement.
However Betty’s and Rhianne’s was kind of similar because
Betty’s was 56.5cm long and Rhianne’s was 56cm long.

  • The average measurement was 66cm long.
  • I was below the average measurement.

  • There were 7 people that were above the average and
  • 14 that were below the average.

Sayonara was well above and Nigel was well below.
The mode was 44cm long.

The range between the hightest measurement and
the lowest measurement was 65.7cm long.

What is your favourite Wild Animal?

My Interpretation
10 students chose other because they are interested in other domestic
animals. Like sheep, cows and pigs. No one chose ladybugs because they
so small. Also ladybugs are tiny and you don’t see them very often.
Only eight students liked lions because lions are beautiful animals.
Male lions have manes and all lions have a ferocious roar.
Eagles and cheetahs were kind of the same.
Eagles were liked by one person and cheetahs were liked by two people.
