Chocolate Recount
Chocolate recount
The day to make chocolates was finally here. We made
chocolates to give to our family for Christmas. Miss Paton
started to pick groups and my group was Carolyn, Anne and
Lesina. We put four tables together and gave us a pot with
a plate on top. We waited for Miss paton to pour hot water
in to our pots. After she put chocolate on our plate we
started to mix the chocolates with a spoons until they
were fully melted. After we mixed it we were given moulds
to pour our chocolates in. When we all finished pouring
chocolates we moved to another table and poured some
white chocolate. We took turns pouring our chocolates
into the moulds. We finished off with some dark chocolate.
\ Miss Paton put the chocolates into the fridge for the rest
of the day. One day later Miss Paton called some groups over
to wrap our chocolates with tin foil and proudly named them.
Overall it was fun to make mouth watering chocolates.

Camp Recount
Camp Recount
Finally the day was here. I was jumping up like a kangaroo. I was so happy
when the day for camp had finally arrived. I was in a rush to go to school
and wouldn't stop telling my Dad that I was ready. When I finally arrived
Elina helped me carry my bag to the hall. We had an assembly. Me Rhianne,
Carolyn, Anna and Athena had a game of tag until the bus arrived. Minutes
felt like hours and hours felt like years, but it was worth seeing the animals
with my own two eyes.

Carolyn, Anna and Athena had a game of tag until the bus arrived. Minutes
felt like hours and hours felt like years, but it was worth seeing the animals
with my own two eyes.
We then had a tour of camp and our cabins. Luckily me and my cabin mates
Carolyn, Rhianne, Ana, Kanan and Lesina had the biggest cabin there. Mrs
Kopua told us our activity groups and our first activities. I was so happy when
I heard that my group were going to do Kayaking with Mrs Kopua. Everyone
rushed to get changed into their swimming togs. As we arrived we were told
to wear a life jacket. I didn't want to lose time waiting for people but I still
had too. Mrs Kopua then showed us how to use an oar which is what you use
to move the kayak round. We all made an eight with the oar. I got a bit tried
waving it around. A few minutes later we were told to get a Kayak, so Mrs
Kopua could show us how to get in and out of the kayak. As I waited and
waited for Mrs Kopua to let me get in the kayak, I was told to swap with
Zariah. There were times where my small hands got tired of holding the oar,
so I simply let go and placed it on my Kayak. Some people fell in the lake but most people stayed aboard. At least they had life jackets. When it was finally
time for our next activity I was quite dry but the kayak was wet.

Our next activity were the go karts which was an old type of car used in
the olden days. Most of us stayed in our swimming togs while others changed.
We then were instructed to wear helmets in case we fell out. When it was my
turn, I was a little scared since I didn’t want to fall out. Luckily I didn’t fall
out for both of my turns. After just two turns me and some other students
sat on the fence. At that point I was as hungry as an angry lion. Watching
people fall out of their go karts was a little funny.

After the days went by I felt like I was only at camp for a few seconds.
Overall I had a great experience through camp. I loved every activity,
especially the flying fox that was in the playground. I didn’t want to leave
even though I was tired from the activity and the long bush walk.

Right after we finished cleaning up, we gathered up and ate burgers with
fries on the side. It was one of my favourite meals that we ate at camp apart
from the ice cream. After our skits we got on the bus and left camp.
I was really tried but I remembered that it was going to take a long time to
get home. Suddenly the bus driver turned on the TV and we watched Rio the

It was funny wen Nick acted. There were three characters
Whetu, Nick and Tawhirimatea the God of wind. They never
changed the background. Even though I didn’t like the show
it was still fun. The person who played Whetu was a character

I wished we could had gone to Rainbows End. I thought back to

There I met my friend and her two cousins. My friend
said that we should create an obstacle course. We were in
the castle and we tried our best to get out of it, but we
ended up on the slide in the castle. Some people were on
top of me. We had to wait for someone to get us out.
Some of us cheated and went down through the door
and to the slide. We went on the slide it was crowded
with people. When we were on top there were so many
people there that we were all squished. Some went on
their stomach and others on their back. Since I wanted
to win the race, I went on my back. While we were
running to the finish line I shouted “It’s not fair that
you didn't tell us where we were going”. She didn't answer
instead she kept going. I thought to myself that she was
going to win because she was the only one who knew where
we’re going. Went rushed to the pink slide and back to the
start. My friend came first and I came second. We then
went to the castle where the cake was. We ate our food
and I got my baby brother’s food. He was too little to eat
candy. We took some photos and the birthday boy cut the
cake. We went back to play again.

Super Hero Reflection
Enlargement SuperHero Art
What did you accomplish?
Trying to draw Wonder Woman by following the grid lines and by making accurate measurements.
Are you satisfied with your Super Hero enlargement? Why / Why not?
I’m pleased with my work because I tried hard to follow the grid lines to draw the body of Wonder Woman
What did you find easy when you created your SuperHero enlargement?
I found drawing the legs the easiest because they were faded in
What did you find challenging when you were creating your SuperHero enlargement?
I found drawing the hair and face challenging because I had to follow the grid lines for the hair which was really difficult.
What do you need to work on?
The face and hands because they were really hard to follow on the grid
What would you change with your Super Hero enlargement?
The face because she looks like she’s evil.
What would you do next time to improve Super Hero Enlarged picture?
I would want to improve on the face of my Wonder Woman because she looks really angry.

Sir Edmund Hillary Individual Writing
Sir Edmund Hillary
Sir Edmund Hillary climbed the highest mountain on the 29th May 1953 with his climbing companion Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. The New Zealand icon Sir Edmund Hillary was the first person to climb Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. For 5 hours they tackled rocks and ice faces until 11:00 am. For his bravery to climb Mount Everest and charity work he is now the on the 5 dollar note.
During the next fifty years Sir Edmund Hillary set trips on trackers and exhibitions. The Himalayan trust was then born. People from countries overseas donated money and material to the trust. On the opening of the school, forty students attend. There were many volunteer help that came from around the world.
The Sherpa required an airstrip but without roads it would be difficult to move the heavy machinery. One hundred Shapes cut down some bushies, dug out roots and leveled the land. The land was to rocky which would make to extremely hard to level the land.
Sir Edmund Hillary had went through some sadness in his life since his Louise and daughter Belinda aged sixteen died in a plane crash in 1975. But that did not stop this icon.
During the next thirty years Sir Edmund Hillary build 27 schools, 2 hospitals, 12 clinics, several bridges and an airstrip.

We got to make our own glitter jar and put it in a small brown
bag. When I finished I realised I could have used every colour
and made it rainbow. I thought that the glitter jars were cute
because they were smaller than my pinkie. There were little
hangers on the lid of the jar and I was thinking that I could
make a necklace or a bracelet.

The people who came were me, lila, Salamasina’s cousin and

gems on top. We took some photos with the birthday girl and

everything I do. My Dad is always happy and full of jokes.
He is respectable. Admasu is mostly happy and he enjoys life.

Personal Success
My Father has had a lot of personal success in his lifetime.
He has had five children and has been married for 25 years.
My father was proud to see my eldest sister and my siblings
grow up. Admasu enjoys every bit of life. He met my mother
Yengus at a party in 1990. My Father came to New Zealand in
2014. He made a new life for himself in New Zealand, where
he had to learn English and get a job. My Father got a job as a
waiter and tries to learn English when he has time.

Conclusion
I think my Dad is the ultimate unsung hero because he is
always there for me when I need him and he cares deeply
about my education. My Dad always tries to fix the TV when
it breaks and does his best to fix it when I want to watch TV.
