Birthday Party Recount

Birthday party Recount

During the holidays I went to my friend's birthday
party. I got a call from his Mother a few days before
the party, to ask if I wanted to come to his party, as
he was turning 7 years old. I was happy to go so I agreed.
After a few days passed me, my brothers and my
Mum waited for my cousin’s mother to come and pick us
up. My cousins and their mother were waiting in the car.
We were driving for a long time until we arrived at
Chipmunks. As we entered I could hear people talking as
it echoed through the room.

Before we started to play we had to take off our shoes.
There I met my friend and her two cousins. My friend
said that we should create an obstacle course. We were in
the castle and we tried our best to get out of it, but we
ended up on the slide in the castle. Some people were on
top of me. We had to wait for someone to get us out.
Some of us cheated and went down through the door
and to the slide. We went on the slide it was crowded
with people. When we were on top there were so many
people there that we were all squished. Some went on
their stomach and others on their back. Since I wanted
to win the race, I went on my back. While we were
running to the finish line I shouted “It’s not fair that
you didn't tell us where we were going”. She didn't answer
instead she kept going. I thought to myself that she was
going to win because she was the only one who knew where
we’re going. Went rushed to the pink slide and back to the
start. My friend came first and I came second. We then
went to the castle where the cake was. We ate our food
and I got my baby brother’s food. He was too little to eat
candy. We took some photos and the birthday boy cut the
cake. We went back to play again.

I had a fun time at the birthday party and in August I’m
going to another party. I enjoyed the party and wish to
go to another birthday party.
I  got in trouble because I asked my mother for some
money but the game was broken. Me and my friends
spent the money on ice cream.
My mother was  speaking to me in Amharic when I
asked her. My mother couldn’t understand me. My
friend told me that I should have asked the people
that worked there to exchange the note for coins.
I did that and when put the coin in the game it came back
out. We asked the workers if they could help but they
said it was broken. We were upset but then I saw the
ice cream shop. My friend had two dollars so she asked
me for one dollar, I gave her one dollar. I gave the one
dollar I found to her cousin. We went to a table to eat
our ice cream. When my friend’s brother came and asked
for one my friend shared her ice cream. The other kids
also came and wanted an  ice cream. So my cousin and myself shared ours. When my mother saw me, she asked
“Why have you got an ice cream without asking me?”.
I told her that the game did not work. I still had I great
time there and loved playing on the big slide.

When I got  home my mother said to me “Next  time
don’t spend my money without asking”. Overall I had
a great time at  my friend’s birthday party. It was
so much fun going to Chipmunks and burning off my
energy.
