For this activity we had to Take a look at the Christchurch street art website and choose two different pieces of artwork. Look carefully at both pieces of art and tell is what is similar and different.

On your blog, post screenshots of the two pieces of art that you have chosen. Tell us about the similarities and differences that you see.

  1. Hello Betty

Interesting blog post Betty. I like the words in the post that you used to describe the similarities and the difference. Ka pai on doing that! Maybe next time you should add who made the paintings. Otherwise, outstanding blog post Betty.

  2. Hi again Betty,

Thanks for doing week four, day four, activity three. Wow was an incredibly thoughtful and detailed post, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it :) I can tell you’ve thought deeply about the meaning behind the paintings and I liked how you decided to express this through a clear and easy to read poster - ka pai!

What made you choose these paintings in particular? Have you seen some street art with you own eyes? I saw some incredible street art when I was down in Dunedin last year, some of them are so amazing and big that you actually have to stop for a few minutes to take it all in and notice everything. If I was an artist I think I would choose to do big murals and street art!

Do you enjoy doing art? I would say I am quite creative but I don’t do much art anymore. I used to when I was younger though as my Mum was an art teacher!

    Have a groovy day,
    Eliza :)

  3. Mōrena Betty, how is your day going so far?

I’ve just seen how close you are to finishing all 60 of the Summer Learning Journey activities, ka pai! You are doing so well and are so close to the end so I thought I would jump on your blog to give you some encouragement! We love looking at your posts and really hope you’ll finish all of the activities :)

Just a gentle reminder that the Summer Learning Journey finishes next Friday (24th January) so you have until then to finish all of the activities. Remember that the more activities you do, the more points you gain and the higher the chance you have of winning some really cool prizes! I would also encourage you to go and have a look at all the comments we have made on your posts to see if anything needs to be edited in order for you to get the full points available.

Have a fantastic day and I'm so excited for you to finish!
    Eliza :)

  4. Hello Betty,
I am back on your blog to see some of the fantastic blog posts you have created. I really like how you gave us lots of similarities and differences. I also really like how you took the time to put all of your work into a google drawing. You have also made a very nice back round. I think that I am bad at art. I mean, I think I am getting better, but not a lot. If I would want to be a good artist I would have to practice 24/7. Maybe next time you could add information about the back story of this activity. Overall, this is a phenomenal blog post! Keep up the astonishing work!
